Get to Know Cynthia Tatsuta, DDS

I am a native Southern Californian and have practiced dentistry since 1992.  I received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and minor in management from University of California, Irvine and a Doctor of Dental Surgery diploma from University of California, San Francisco Dental School. My residency in general dentistry at the Long Beach Veterans’ Affairs Medical Center lent me the hands on hospital exposure that I desired to complement my dental school training.

After practicing in Southern California as a general dentist, I returned to school and completed two additional years of specialized training in root canal treatments using surgical microscopes at Oregon Health Sciences University.  In 2006 I received my Conscious Sedation Permit and have enjoyed providing our endodontic care under oral and IV sedation to clients who may have dental phobia, “hot teeth,” TMJ disease, small mouths or just prefer the extra help relaxing in the dental chair.

Serving as the endodontic consultant on the San Fernando Valley Dental Society Peer Review Board, volunteering to screen dental patients at local health fair screenings and providing endodontic care for Donated Dental Services give me the opportunity to care for our community.

By lecturing as a continuing education provider I may share my passion for endodontics, dentistry and health with friends and colleagues.  I have been published in the Journal of Endodontics and am currently a member of the San Fernando Valley Dental Society, California Dental Association, American Dental Association, Southern California Association of Endodontics, American Association of Endodontics and the American Society of Dental Anesthesiologists.

I enjoy using the many technological advancements with an amazing, well-trained, caring team to make improvements in the lives of others. I strive to educate, comfort, relieve pain, eliminate infection, save teeth, restore health and gain rewarding smiles from happy, satisfied patients.

My personal time is usually focused on helping my two wonderful children explore their passions in art, soccer, basketball and swimming. My hobbies include attending exercise classes, baking, yoga, paddle boarding, scuba diving, boogie boarding and skiing. I walk with my children and pick vegetables from our garden to relax and rejuvenate.

If you choose to try to save your teeth, Dr. Tatsuta and her specialized team will make every effort to help you save them. Give your teeth the best chance.

“People don’t know that there are many procedures that are safe and comfortable to help them preserve their tooth structure.” – Cynthia T. Tatsuta, DDS – Encino
